Season 3 of ‘Never Have I Ever’ to stream from Aug 12

Netflix’s “Never Have I Ever” will return with a third season on August 12, the streaming service recently announced. The coming-of-age series from co-creators and executive producers Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher follows Indian-American teenager Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) as she navigates the ups and downs of high school life.

The second season kicked off with an exploration of Devi’s increasingly complicated love triangle. Season 3 will pick up following the events of the second season finale where Devi chooses Paxton (Darren Barnet), as her boyfriend, over Ben (Jaren Lewison).

Entertainment Tonight has speculated that the third installment of the series will delve deeper into Devi and Paxton’s “blossoming teen romance.”

The third season of the hit series will include Indian-American actor and producer Anirudh “Andy” Pisharody along with the regulars Poorna Jagannathan, Richa Moorjani, Jaren Lewison, Darren Barnet, Lee Rodriguez, and Ramona Young. Pisharody will play Des, “an Indian-American teen who’s as smart as Devi but goes to an elite private school,” according to a Deadline report.

The series will end with a fourth and final season which is set to premiere in 2023. Announcing in April, Kaling told Entertainment Tonight that she believes the fourth season is the right time to end the popular show. “Four seasons for a high school show felt like it made sense,” Kaling told ET.
