Congressman Tom Suozzi, the Democratic candidate for Governor, issued the following statement in response to the U.S. expelling 12 Russian U.N. diplomats over security concerns. “Putin is a liar, manipulator, and murderer,” said Suozzi. “We must use every tool in our arsenal from sanctions, to military and humanitarian aid, to cutting off access to banks and our financial system, to embargoes of Russian products, to the seizure of oligarchs properties, to the expulsion of Russian spies. Our allies and friends of democracy and freedom are united – we must remain united in America to ensure that partisanship stops at the water’s edge.”
Earlier on the morning of March 1, Suozzi stood at the gates of the retreat for the Russian Delegation to the United Nations in Glen Cove, calling for the seizure of properties of Russian oligarchs in New York State, and for the embargo of all Russian products.
