Mountain View, CA: Alphabet’s Indian American CEO Sundar Pichai announced a $ 100 million Google Career Certificates Fund to create a skilled workforce. Google’s new project aims to prepare young people for high–paying jobs in the fields of data analytics, IT support, project management, and user experience design.
Sundar Pichai said the goal is to create jobs for more than 20,000 young people in the United States and thereby raise their living standards. “This investment has the potential to add $ 1 billion to the total wage of young people in the United States,” he said in a statement. Google’s goal is to ensure the growth of the IT sector in the United States by creating high employment opportunities.
‘This fund is available to anyone and does not necessarily require a college degree. Seventy-five percent of graduates report a change in their career over the past six months, including a pay rise and higher-paying jobs.
‘Google’s Digital Slug program has trained 8 million Americans in 50 US states. They will only have to pay it back if they can find a job that will earn them at least $ 40,000 a year,” he said. About 70,000 Americans have completed Google Career Certificates so far.
