Suriya is the first Tamil actor to be invited to the Oscar organiser’s membership committee. On Tuesday (June 28), The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences invited 397 artists and executives to join the Class of 2022. Among the list, Suriya, Kajol and Reema Kagti will represent India this year. This is indeed a huge achievement for the Tamil actor.
Suriya’s Jai Bhim and Soorarai Pottru, which was released on Amazon Prime Video, fetched international recognition. Though he has had many blockbuster films under his credit, these two films reached a wider audience.
