Hicksville: The Arya Samaj of Long Island celebrated the 76th Republic Day at the Arya Samaj Bhavan here on January 26th. Jasbir Singh, CEO of Hum Hindustani and past President of IDP, who was the Chief Guest, unfurled the Indian flag in the presence of local community leaders and the Indian community of Long Island.
On this occasion, local artists presented songs in the glory of the nation. The program started with Vande Mataram, sung by Raj Dhingra. A track composed by Hidayat Husain Khan – “Jai Hind, India (Jana Gana Mana)” was the main attraction. Tabla artist Avirodh Sharma also put up a spectacular presentation.
Anju Sharma and Veer Mukhi, Secretary, coordinated the program. Dr Yashpal Arya, Trustee Chairman, thanked the attendees as he paid tribute to martyrs and reminded everyone of India’s golden heritage.
