Vedic Heritage to host annual Indian classical music and dance fest

New York: Vedic Heritage Inc. will host its landmark annual Indian classical music and dance festival on November 4th and 5th at the prestigious Pandit Jasraj Auditorium at their Ashram on 111 Jerusalem Avenue, Hempstead, New York 11550.

This annual event was initiated by Her Holiness Anant Vibhusit Pratham Parvatyacharya GuruMaa Jyotishanand Saraswati in 1982 and has brought the best classical musicians and dancers to New York ever since.

This year, on November 4 they have acclaimed Sitarist Pandit Anjan Saha accompanied on Tabla by Pandit Arup Chattopadhyay; and Shri Phil Scarff on Saxophone. Phil plays the Saxophone in the North Indian style, and we will have a unique jugalbandi of Sitar and Saxohone. These performances will be followed by Odissi Dance by Dr. Kaberi Sen.

On November 5, Shehnai Maestro, Pandit Lokesh Anand will be accompanied by Pandit Aditya Narayan Banerjee on Tabla, followed by Smt. Monica Joshi, a vocalist from Mewati Gharana. This in turn will be followed by Santoor Maestro Rahul Sharma performing accompanied by Aditya Kalyanpur on Tabla.

Consul General of India Randhir Jaiswal will be the guest of honor. Other guests of honor include the Town Clerk of Hempstead, Kate Murray, Town Supervisor of Hempstead, Donald Clavin Jr; and New York State Senator, Kevin Thomas.
