Voting safely in Georgia runoffs

Voters have options to cast a ballot safely during the COVID-19 pandemic:

  • The runoff election will be held on Jan. 5, but early in-person voting has begun from Dec. 14 and closes on Dec 31.
  • All registered voters — including those who didn’t vote in the Nov. 3 general election — are eligible to cast ballots in the runoffs. The voter registration deadline has passed.
  • All registered voters can request and submit an absentee ballot. You must return your completed absentee ballot by the time polls close at 7 p.m. on Jan. 5.
  • You don’t have to provide ID if you vote absentee by mail. But Georgia requires ID for in-person voting.
