The South Asian Times has soured in image, national coverage, scholarship and quality of writing. It has almost reached the stature of erstwhile India Abroad which was the result of life and mission of Gopal Raju the founder for three decades, which is now extinct for many years. Indian community needs a paper like The South Asian Times which is both at the crossroads of information highway as well as cultural highway. It’s like an umbilical cord of India which gives us nutrients of nourishments that breeds in us the live India, the dynamic India, the India we want to see that is growing so rapidly to fulfill the dreams of Indians back home and NRIs abroad. Like the great freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose who created an army of Indian soldiers outside India and fought with British to limit their influence and defeated them in the northeast of Asia with the support of Japan and other countries, we Indians in America and other countries also will continue to bring favorable changes for India while living abroad. My respect and love for India keeps growing for over half a century and we always maintain close ties with India through visits to many relatives we have in India.
Wish you all a very happy 77th Independence Day.
