Concert ‘Gamtilu Gujarat’ raises over $50,000 to benefit Ritesh Shah Charitable Pharmacy

New Jersey: On Saturday, April 27, 2024, The Vogel in Red Bank was the vibrant setting for an evening of Gamtilu Gujarat, all in support of a noble cause. The event was organized by Ohmkara, a cultural organization in New Jersey dedicated to promoting Indian culture, heritage, language, music and art, brought together renowned poet Ankit Trivedi and his team of singers and musicians for an unforgettable musical and poetic experience.

The primary focus of the event was to raise funds for Ritesh Shah Charitable Pharmacy (RSCP), New Jersey’s first and only charitable pharmacy. RSCP’s mission is to increase access to medications, immunizations, health education, and pharmacy services for uninsured and underserved patients, to reduce clinical and social health inequities in the community. The concert garnered overwhelming support, with over $50,000 raised in donations. This significant contribution will enable RSCP to continue its vital work of providing life-saving medications to those in need.

The atmosphere was vibrant as the crowd, which turned out in large numbers, laughed and enjoyed the witty poetry and captivating performances by Ankit Trivedi and his team.

The event was graced by speeches from esteemed guests including Red Bank Mayor Billy Portman, NJ State Senator Vin Gopal, and Joe Howe, all of whom commended RSCP’s cause and efforts. Mayor Billy Portman presented Ritesh and his wife, Asha on stage with a proclamation in recognition of their dedication and contribution to the community. Additionally, six awards were presented on stage to individuals for their noble contributions to RSCP: Dr. Sumul Raval, Dr. Atul Shah, Atul N. Shah and Jay Dhaduk. A proclamation was also bestowed upon Ohmkara and Ankit Trivedi for their outstanding support and dedication to the cause.

In his speech, Ritesh Shah, the founder of RSCP, expressed his deep gratitude to the attendees and supporters of the event. He emphasized the impact of their contributions in advancing RSCP’s mission and extending vital assistance to uninsured and underserved residents. “Tonight, as we gather here for Gamtilu Gujarat, I am deeply moved by the overwhelming support and generosity that surrounds us,” said Ritesh Shah. “Your presence at this concert speaks volumes about your commitment to our mission at Ritesh Shah Charitable Pharmacy. Through your contributions and partnership, we have been able to make significant strides in our efforts to increase access to vital medications for uninsured and underserved residents.”

He concluded by thanking every attendee for their generosity, emphasizing the crucial difference their support makes in the lives of community members.
