Adams administration launches Jobs NYC portal for targeted communities

New York City Mayor Eric Adams will launch Jobs NYC this week, which includes the new Jobs NYC talent portal located at jobs.nyc.gov. The Jobs NYC talent portal is a free digital tool that will serve as a centralized entry point into New York City’s vast workforce services, connecting job seekers to career opportunities, free employment services, and occupational skills training, aiming to help improve economic outcomes for all New Yorkers.

The Jobs NYC initiative, chaired by First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright with Deputy Mayors Maria Torres-Springer, Ana Almanzar, and Abbe Williams-Isom as co-chairs, will address persistently high unemployment rates in targeted communities and will also feature hiring halls throughout the five boroughs. From March to August 2024, the six-month initiative will include at least one hiring hall each month in every borough, starting on Monday, March 25th, in the Bronx, in addition to numerous other career events at the City and partner sites.

This series of events will help bring employers, resources, and the new talent portal to New Yorkers in their communities. It will feature some of the training and workforce services listed on the website, in addition to onsite employers. The initiative targets two key audiences: job seekers and employers. Jobs NYC assists job seekers from our focus regions no matter where they are in their job search and connects local businesses to the talent they need to thrive.
