Children’s Hope India honors three entrepreneurs at annual spring luncheon

New York: Nonprofit organization Children’s Hope India (CHI) has announced the honorees for this year’s Spring Luncheon which will be held on Wednesday, May 8th at Leonard’s Palazzo in New York. The luncheon will benefit CHI’s “30/30 Education Initiative” which provides early education, tuition, concept learning and career counseling to children attending CHI centers.

This year’s Woman of Distinction is Roopa Unnikrishnan, who is a SVP, Strategy and Corporate Development at IDEX Corporation. A President’s Arjuna Award gold medal winner and Rhodes Scholar, Roopa holds an MBA from Oxford University. She is a strategist, sportswoman and mother of twins.

Avani Modi Sarkar, Co-Founder of Modi Toys and New York artist and Parsons graduate Jeena Raghavan will be honored as this year’s Rising Stars.

“This year’s CHI Spring Luncheon is all about celebrating the power of women, and we are thrilled to have three exceptional honorees,” said Dr. Dina Pahlajani, Cofounder and President of Children’s Hope India. “Empowering women and girls through education and entrepreneurship is crucial for their success in today’s world, and we have made it our mission to provide them with the tools necessary to achieve their goals.”

The luncheon will also highlight 17 female entrepreneurs including Rising Stars Avani Modi Sarkar and Jeena Raghavan, as well as Gopi Vaid and Ranna Gill who will be showcasing and selling their products at the event, with 15 percent of proceeds going to CHI’s “30/30 Education Initiative.”
