The sixth chakra known as ‘aagya’ chakra is the seat of our higher mental powers, capacity to distinguish, memory and will.
By mental powers, we are connected with the process of manifestation via the third eye – center between the eye brows also known as third chakra – which quantum physics refers to as “standardized field” or the area of lowest stimulation of matter. By opening of the third eye, we can control and manipulate the process of manifestation and create energy for healing and fulfillment of our wishes.
This requires rigorous practices of yoga but for healthy third chakra there are simple exercises in yoga. One of them is the ‘Dolphin pose’.
Technique
· Sit in vajrasana or thunderbolt pose then into table top position
· From table pose, bend the arms so that the forearm come down to floor, keeping the elbows and shoulder a distance apart
· Bring the palms together and interlace the fingers in firm grip
· Now, spread the feet in such a way that the sole is fully on floor or ground, and then lift the knees and hips upward in a modified downward dog pose
· Be in this pose for ten seconds and return to table top position
Benefits
· Stimulates brain
· Improves concentration
· Keeps aagya chakra healthy
· Strengthens arms and shoulders
· Improves digestion
Note of caution
Those suffering from high blood pressure, Glaucoma and head injuries should avoid this asana.
