Iconic radio presenter Ameen Sayani passes away at 91 due to heart attack

On February 21, iconic radio presenter Ameen Sayani died at the age of 91 after suffering a heart attack.

His son Rajil Sayani confirmed his death news to Indian Express and said his father suffered a heart attack on Tuesday night. Later, Ameen Sayani was taken to HN Reliance Hospital, Mumbai, where he breathed his last.

His son told the portal, “The doctors at the hospital attended him but couldn’t save him and he was declared dead.”

Ameen was popularly known for his show Binaca Geetmala which was broadcast in 1952. Later, he worked with Radio Ceylon and Vividh Bharati (AIR).
