Chakras can be imbalanced by either too much energy or too little energy.
When fifth chakra or the throat chakra is imbalanced by excessive energy, such individuals talk endlessly about unrelated subjects and talk for the sake of talking, not realizing how much precious nervous energy he/she is wasting. He may go round and round talking without any purpose or resolving any issue.
Most of the time such people want to impress others with one’s knowledge. They have a strong need for approvals and ego strokes. Such people prefer to be around whom they can dominate with their knowledge.
When this chakra is imbalanced by too little energy then such individuals become quiet, timid, shy, passive and try to avoid situations where one has to express any thing about themselves. Such people are inconsistent in action with little motivation. They have little energy and exhausts quickly. They never realize or reach their true potential and have a nervous temperament.
To balance the fifth chakra, there is a wonderful yogic intervention called ‘matsyasana’ or the fish pose.
