Washington: Former First Lady Michelle Obama gave a powerful and impassioned speech at the virtual Democratic National Convention saying that President Trump was not fit for office – criticizing not his policies, but his character.
“Whenever we look to this White House for some leadership or consolation or any semblance of steadiness, we get chaos, division, and a total and utter lack of empathy.”
“If you think things cannot possibly get worse, trust me, they can, and they will if we don’t make a change in this election,” she warned. “If we have any hope of ending this chaos, we have got to vote for Joe Biden like our lives depend on it.”
Throughout her powerful 18-minute speech one message was clear: V-O-T-E, spelled out not just through her evisceration of Donald Trump but also by the letters of her necklace.
“Vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris like our lives depend on it,” Obama said, while wearing a gold necklace that quickly went viral, and became a top US Google search term during the last hour of the convention.
