Indian chutneys have received global recognition, with three chutneys ranking among the top 50 globally as per TasteAtlas, a renowned food and travel guide. Indian chutneys collectively secured the 42nd position on the list. Coriander (Dhaniya) chutney, a vibrant green dip made from coriander leaves, mint, lime, and chilies, ranked 47th. This chutney is not only delicious but also adds a perfect touch to any meal.

Mango chutney, which is made from raw mangoes and is rich in vitamins and antioxidants, also made the list, ranking 50th.

The guide calls them "India's national condiments," describing them as "fresh homemade relishes" that "consist of pickled or stewed fruit and vegetables that are cut into small chunks, then delicately seasoned with a variety of spices such as cumin, cardamom, tamarind, ginger, and turmeric."

As with the others, there is no single recipe for this chutney. As per the guide, "It is believed that the best mango chutney should have flavors that are sweet, sour, and slightly spicy."

The 50 Best Dips list was topped by Toum from Lebanon. Guacamole, the popular Mexican delight, was ranked 4th. Hummus was placed 10th

This international acclaim is not new for Indian cuisine. Previously, Indian filter coffee was recognized as the second-best coffee in the world, and Masala chai was ranked as the second-best non-alcoholic beverage. Maharashtra’s Vada Pav also ranked among the top 20 globally.
