The Sindhi Association of Sierra Leone, along with the vibrant Indian diaspora, celebrated Cheti Chand Jayanti on 22 March 2026 with great enthusiasm and devotion.
Over 500 members of the diaspora came together to mark the birth anniversary of Jhulelal, reflecting the spirit of unity, cultural pride, and shared heritage.

The Sierra Leone Telugu Association (SITA), together with the vibrant Indian diaspora, marked the Ugadi festival on March 22 with great enthusiasm and traditional spirit. High Commissioner B C Pradhan highlighted the deep significance of Ugadi and commended the community for fostering strong cultural connections between India and Sierra Leone.
Meanwhile, India has shipped 1,000 MT of rice to the West African nation this week to support its school feeding program as an example of Global South-South cooperation and India’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals-2030.
