Beijing: Over 100 people, including members of the diplomatic corps and friends of India, watched a special screening of a popular Hindi film showcasing its power of building bridges at the Culture Centre of the Indian Consulate in Shanghai.

‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara', directed by Zoya Akhtar, was screened for the guests late last week when Consul General Pratik Mathur said: “Indian  movies remain a strong calling card of India’s soft power here in China.”

Mathur underlined the importance of Indian cinema in building bridges, as also exhibited by the film’s timeless themes of unbreakable friendship, meaningful adventures, and living life to the fullest that continue to hold great relevance, the Shanghai Consulate said in a post on X.

It is a perfect celebration of India’s cinematic magic, fostering people-to-people ties and inspiring the next generation to embrace every opportunity, Mathur said.

Released in 2011, the film follows three friends on a bachelor road trip across Spain, exploring themes of friendship, overcoming personal fears, and embracing life, featuring memorable adventure sports like skydiving and scuba diving. It stars Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Katrina Kaif, and Abhay Deol in key roles.
