New Delhi: Amid allegations of irregularities in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said the future of the youth was in jeopardy amid rampant paper leaks and that the Congress will raise the issue in the Parliament.

Addressing a press conference at the Delhi AICC Headquarters, the Rae Bareli MP said, “It was claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi stopped the Russia-Ukraine war, but how is it that has not been able to stop paper leaks in India, or rather or rather doesn’t want to stop them. With such incidents, only the future of students is being risked".

Meanwhile, the Congress party has announced a nationwide agitation over the NEET-UG controversy and directed its state units to hold massive protests on Friday “demanding justice for the students”.

NEET, earlier called the All-India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT), is the only entrance exam held each year for students seeking admission to undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions throughout the country.

This year, over 24 lakh students appeared for NEET exam at 4,750 centers across 571 cities, including 14 international locations. The result was declared on June 4, which immediately caused a hue and cry with aspirants raising multiple issues, such as awarding grace marks to over 1,500 students, an unusually high number of students achieving perfect scores, and allegations of a leaked question paper.
