New Delhi: Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court has sent Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) custody for three days in connection with a corruption case linked to the alleged liquor policy scam.

Special Judge Amitabh Rawat passed the order on an application moved by the probe agency, which arrested Kejriwal on June 26. Following the arrest, he withdrew the petition filed in the Supreme Court challenging the order passed by the Delhi High Court staying his bail in the money laundering case.

In the application seeking the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo's custody, the CBI told the court that he needed to be quizzed to unearth the larger conspiracy in the case. It also said that Kejriwal was required to be confronted with evidence and other people accused in the matter.

During the hearing on CBI's plea seeking his custody, Kejriwal alleged that the CBI sources were building a false narrative in the media to malign the image of the ruling party in the national capital and its leaders. Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in the money laundering case stemming from the alleged liquor policy scam on March 21 and is presently lodged in Tihar Jail.
