Tamil Nadu MPs to meet PM over delimitation: Stalin
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin announced that the Joint Action Committee, formed to oppose the government's delimitation proposal, has decided to meet PM Modi and submit a representation.
Opposition leaders from the southern states convened in Chennai on March 22 and passed a resolution calling for maintaining the present status quo for another 25 years. “The Prime Minister should assure this, and necessary amendments should be made to ensure that the current representation of the states is maintained in Parliament post-delimitation,” Stalin said.
He also mentioned that the Tamil Nadu assembly had passed a resolution against the delimitation of Lok Sabha seats in 2024.
