President Murmu, PM Modi extend Holi greetings

New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other top leaders extended their warm wishes to the citizens on the occasion of Holi. 

President Murmu conveyed her heartfelt greetings, emphasising the festival's spirit of unity and brotherhood. 

In her message, she said: "This festival nurtures the spirit of unity and brotherhood in our lives. The diverse colours of Holi reflect the values of unity in diversity. This festival also symbolises the triumph of good over evil. It teaches us to spread love and positivity around us."

She also extended her warm greetings and best wishes to all Indians, both in India and abroad, adding, "May this festival of colors fill your lives with joy and prosperity."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to social media platform X to send his greetings. He wrote, "Many wishes to all of you on Holi. May this festival infuse new enthusiasm and energy in everyone's life and also deepen the colour of unity among the countrymen.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also took to social media to send his warm wishes. "Heartiest greetings to all the countrymen on the festival of joy, enthusiasm, and colors, 'Holi'. May this festival of colours bring increased prosperity, progress, and affluence in the lives of all of you," he posted on X.

Dr S. Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister, posted: "Wishing everyone a happy Holi! May the festival of colours fill your lives with happiness, joy and harmony.” 

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, too, extended his wishes, praying for the public’s well-being and health. “May this festival bring joy, good health, and new energy into your lives,” he posted.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said the festival of Holi is about unity inspiring all to walk on the path of harmony with love and cordiality. Taking to the social media platform X, he wished everyone joy, enthusiasm, and prosperity during the vibrant festival.

"The festival of Holi is the messenger of unity, which inspires us to walk on the path of harmony with love and cordiality," he said.

The CM further prayed to Lord Shri Ram, "I pray to Lord Shri Ram that this festival may fill the life of all of you with various colours of happiness, prosperity, and new enthusiasm."

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited the Asha Kiran shelter home in Rohini area to celebrate Holi with the children. She emphasised that since these children do not have parents, the government, as their guardian, would ensure they receive proper care and facilities.
