Shashi Tharoor leads US delegation to brief on Op Sindoor

New Delhi: Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor is leading a 10-member delegation from across parties to the United States to brief on the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor. The delegation, scheduled to visit Guyana, Panama, Colombia, Brazil, and the United States, departs on May 24, after Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri briefs them on the operation.

Accepting the nomination to lead the delegation to the US and four other countries, Tharoor had said in a post on X, "I am honored by the invitation of the government of India to lead an all-party delegation to five key capitals, to present our nation's point of view on recent events. When national interest is involved, and my services are required, I will not be found wanting. Jai Hind!"  had added.

Apart from Tharoor, the delegation includes Shambhavi Choudhary from the Lok Janshakti Party, Dr Sarfaraz Ahmed from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Sudip Bandyopadhyay of Trinamool Congress, Telugu Desam Party's Ganti Harish Madhur Balayogi, BJP's Shri Shashank Mani Tripathi and⁠ Bhubaneswar Kalita, Shiv Sena's Milind Deora and two non-politicians, including Taranjit Singh Sandhu, former US ambassador and ⁠Dr Varun Jeph, Director (IOR) - Liaison Officer for the delegation.
