New Delhi: As India marked the first anniversary of the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians in Jammu and Kashmir, global leaders, diplomats and missions came together to remember the victims and reiterate their stand against terrorism.

Messages of solidarity and remembrance poured in from across the world, with leaders taking to X (formerly Twitter) and official platforms to honor those who lost their lives in the April 22, 2025, attack in Baisaran Valley.

US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, described the attack as “horrific,” remembering the innocent lives lost and stating that the United States mourns alongside those affected.

"On the one-year anniversary of the horrific attack in Pahalgam, we remember the innocent victims and honour their memory as we mourn with their families. The United States stands with the people of India in their fight against terrorism," Gor posted on X.

In addition, the human cost of the Pahalgam terror attack was brought to Capitol Hill with a major exhibition attended by US lawmakers and officials. Nineteen members of the US Congress from across party lines attended, along with representatives from more than 60 Congressional offices. They underlined the importance of strengthening the India–US partnership in counterterrorism efforts.

Japan's Ambassador to India, Ono Keiichi, stated that Tokyo condemns terrorism in all its forms and expresses solidarity with India in its resolve to combat terrorism and commitment to peace and security.

Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar said his country "remains resolute and unwavering in its fight against terrorism in all its forms. Together with India, we will continue to strengthen our cooperation to confront this threat with determination and to advance peace, security, and stability.”

Stating that terror can never be justified, the European Union said, "We stand firm in our joint commitment to combat terrorism in all its forms and ensure that those who incite such violence are held accountable.”
