Hyderabad: Telangana is preparing to inaugurate Donald Trump Avenue, a road adjoining the US Consulate in Hyderabad’s Financial District, in a move aimed at showcasing the state’s growing economic and diplomatic ties with the United States. According to reports, the avenue is scheduled to be formally opened on June 23.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had first proposed naming the road after the US President in December 2025. However, the plan was temporarily shelved amid global uncertainties, including the US tariff dispute and the conflict in West Asia. With tensions easing, the state government has revived the proposal and is moving ahead with the inauguration.

According to reports, the June 23 ceremony will be attended by US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor, alongside Revanth Reddy. The ceremony is likely to feature a series of diplomatic events and celebrations ahead of the United States’ Independence Day festivities on July 4. Officials believe the road naming ceremony could draw international attention to Hyderabad’s expanding relationship with the US.

The inauguration of Donald Trump Avenue is intended not only as a diplomatic gesture but also as a statement of Telangana’s ambition to position Hyderabad as a globally connected centre for investment, technology and innovation.
