Edison, New Jersey: The 39th Annual Convention of the Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America (FeTNA) concluded with resounding success in Edison, New Jersey, welcoming thousands of attendees from across North America and around the world for one of the largest annual gatherings celebrating Tamil language, culture, entrepreneurship, cinema, education, and community leadership.
Hosted with the participation of more than 70 Tamil Sangams representing communities across the United States and Canada, the three-day convention from July 2-4 showcased the strength, unity, and growing global influence of the Tamil diaspora.
The convention featured an inspiring blend of cultural excellence, thought leadership, business innovation, youth engagement, literary forums, and entertainment, creating meaningful opportunities for collaboration across generations.
FiTEN inspires next generation of Tamil entrepreneurs
One of the convention's signature events, FiTEN – FeTNA International Tamil Entrepreneur Network, brought together accomplished Tamil entrepreneurs, startup founders, venture capitalists, corporate executives, investors, and innovators from around the world.

Through keynote presentations, leadership conversations, startup showcases, and networking sessions, FiTEN fostered meaningful dialogue on entrepreneurship, technology, investment, and economic collaboration while inspiring young professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs to transform ideas into impactful enterprises.

FiFE celebrates art of Tamil storytelling
The convention also hosted the highly anticipated FiFE – FeTNA International Film Festival, celebrating excellence in Tamil cinema by recognizing independent filmmakers, storytellers, and creative artists. The festival featured screenings, filmmaker interactions, and discussions that highlighted the diversity, creativity, and global reach of Tamil cinema while encouraging emerging talent to contribute to the future of filmmaking.

Spectacular cultural performances showcase Tamil heritage
Audiences were treated to an extraordinary lineup of grand cultural programs featuring classical music, Bharatanatyam, folk arts, theatrical productions, contemporary performances, and literary presentations by artists from North America and India. These performances reflected the richness of Tamil civilization while celebrating the creativity and artistic excellence of the global Tamil community.

The convention welcomed an impressive gathering of elected officials, policymakers, business leaders, community organizations, and renowned Tamil personalities from India and across the globe, reaffirming FeTNA's role as one of the premier organizations representing the Tamil diaspora in North America.
Their participation underscored the significant contributions of Tamils in public service, business, technology, healthcare, education, arts, and civic leadership.
Building community and the future
Throughout the weekend, attendees participated in youth leadership programs, educational forums, literary discussions, networking events, business sessions, and community initiatives designed to strengthen cultural identity while preparing future generations for leadership.
"For nearly four decades, FeTNA has united Tamils across North America through language, culture, education, and service," said Ezhilan Ramarajan, President of FeTNA. "The 39th Convention demonstrates that our organization continues to evolve—embracing innovation and entrepreneurship while preserving the timeless values and traditions that define our Tamil heritage. Among those inspired by the convention was incoming FeTNA Board of Director Kathirvel Kumararaja, who emphasized the importance of building upon the organization's remarkable legacy.

As the 39th convention came to a close, participants departed with renewed friendships, stronger professional networks, fresh ideas, and a shared commitment to advancing Tamil heritage while embracing innovation and global collaboration.
