Mineola, NY: On Monday, January 12th, 2026, Nassau County Comptroller Elaine Phillips was sworn in to serve her second term as Comptroller of Nassau County at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City, along with her colleagues County Executive Bruce Blakeman and County Clerk Maureen O’Connell. The ceremony, attended by family, friends, supporters, and community members, marked the start of her new term, with the oath administered by Nassau County District Court Judge Maria Boultadakis.

“I am honored to continue serving the people of Nassau County and grateful for the trust they have placed in me,” Comptroller Phillips said. “My focus remains on protecting taxpayer dollars, strengthening accountability, and ensuring County government operates efficiently and transparently for the residents we serve.”

During her first term, Comptroller Phillips focused on modernizing Nassau County’s financial operations while strengthening oversight and accountability. She launched and advanced the County’s transition to a modern enterprise financial system, a project that will continue in her second term, while conducting audits that saved taxpayer millions of dollars and implementing reforms that improved efficiency, transparency, and payment processing.

“As we move forward, my office will continue to safeguard public funds and deliver real results for Nassau County residents,” Phillips added. “I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished and even more proud of how we’ve done it, by listening, learning, and leading with professionalism and integrity.”
