University of Oklahoma names Nishanth Rodrigues as new CIO

New York: The University of Oklahoma has named Nishanth Rodrigues, the chief information officer of the University of Mississippi, as its new CIO. 

Rodrigues will start at OU at the end of the month, according to the university’s announcement.  

At University of Mississippi, Rodrigues served as CIO since 2017. There, he’s credited with assisting in the construction of a new data center to support academic research. Before that, he served for two years as chief technology officer at Michigan State University. 

According to the announcement, he’s involved with the Cisco Higher Education Advisory Council, the Satisfactory Academic Progress Higher Education Research Advisory Council and the CIO Visions Steering Committee. 

Before his work in higher education, Rodrigues held IT leadership roles at the Bronson Methodist Hospital in Michigan, the pharmaceutical company Perrigo and Borgess Health in Michigan.
