Nartan Rang Dance Academy has been a stalwart in the Tri-State area for over thirty-five years. The academy is run by an extremely passionate, talented, and dedicated choreographer, Swati Vaishnav, who was recently awarded a “Dr. Martin Luther King Visionary Award.” Nartan Rang is one of the only dance academies to have a graduation program for its students. Each year, the academy presents its end-of-the-year position. This year’s event, titled “Nritya Vandana, An Ode To A Mentor,” is being held in honor of the academy’s biggest supporter, teacher, and mentor, the late Dr. P Jayaraman Ji.
Dr. Jayaraman Ji was a catalyst in the inception of Nartan Rang Dance Academy and they will be holding the show in reverence to him by showcasing all the genres of dance that incorporate the rich South Asian heritage he was a visionary of. Nartan Rang’s annual end-of-the-year production will be held on June 23, 2024, at the Adelphi University Performing Arts Center.
