Washington: US President Donald Trump has added 345,000 jobs during his first 100 days in office, according to a new White House memo. The Council of Economic Advisers' report highlights early economic milestones under the Trump administration, including gains in private sector employment, a reduction in federal jobs, and declining inflation.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump shared a screenshot of a tweet from the US Department of Labor. The post said that in his first 100 days, Trump has delivered 'historic wins' for American workers, which include: 345,000 jobs, securing $5.2 trillion in new investments, revitalized American manufacturing, and expanded apprenticeship opportunities for the skilled trade jobs of the future.

The White House credits deregulation and federal telework rollbacks for driving growth. "The labor force participation rate for those without a high school diploma is up by 0.7% since President Trump took office. The veteran unemployment rate is down from 4.2% in January to 3.8% in March. 228,000 jobs were created in March alone, well above expectations," the memo read.

"Remote work among federal employees has fallen over 16 percentage points from March last year to March this year, showcasing the success of President Trump’s initiative to bring federal workers back to the office. Federal telework numbers are now in-line with the private sector," it added.

As the President marked 100 days in the White House, many of the plans he has rolled out since the start of his second term closely align with those in the pages of Project 2025's sprawling, 900-page policy blueprint, which lays out an overhaul of the executive branch. Overseen by the Heritage Foundation, Project 2025 was an initiative that was designed to provide a roadmap for the next Republican president, now Trump.

‘Very hard thing to do’: Trump on 3rd term

In an interview with The Atlantic, which was conducted in March, and published on April 28, the US President was asked about a rumour that he had tasked the Department of Justice with looking into the legality of a third term.

Trump responded that he had not done so, and jokingly said, “That would be a big shattering, wouldn’t it? Well, maybe I’m just trying to shatter.”

While he noted that his supporters were in favor of him running for another term, he stated, “It’s not something that I’m looking to do. And I think it would be a very hard thing to do.”
