Washington, DC: Indian Ambassador to the US Vinay Mohan Kwatra brought together senior American lawmakers and diplomats for a farewell reception honoring Sergio Gor, the new US Ambassador to India.

The gathering at India House marked Gor’s upcoming move to New Delhi and highlighted the strong momentum in the India–U.S. partnership.

Kwatra said on X that he was “honored to host a farewell reception for Ambassador Sergio Gor at India House tonight” and wished him well as he prepared for his assignment. He also thanked guests, including Senator Jim Risch, Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and Representative Brian Mast, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, along with other officials who have supported bilateral ties.

Kwatra wrote, “I wish you the best as you prepare to take up your assignment in New Delhi. Pleasure to join the celebration at the Kennedy Centre last evening to mark the occasion.”

Gor’s transition to New Delhi follows his swearing-in at the White House in November. U.S. President Donald Trump hosted the ceremony, which was conducted by Vice President JD Vance and attended by key members of the administration, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
