Ambassador Vinay Kwatra unfurled the tricolor at India House to mark the 77th Republic Day of India. Hon’ble President’s address to the nation on the eve of Republic Day was relayed on the occasion. The Ambassador presented awards to the winners of the competition to celebrate the Vishwa Hindi Diwas. Members of the Indian diaspora participated enthusiastically in the celebrations.

Indian Consulate in New York celebrated the 77th Republic Day with Flag Hoisting by Consul General Binaya S Pradhan. He read the Hon’ble President of India’s Address to the Nation, highlighting the timeless values of the Constitution and the vital role of citizens at home and the Indian diaspora abroad in building a Developed India @2047. Diaspora members joined the celebrations despite extreme weather conditions.
The Consulate recognized the outstanding achievements and contributions of 2nd-generation Indian diaspora members across diverse fields, felicitating Ronit Karki and Jiya Jadhav for their commendable accomplishments.
The celebrations concluded with a graceful Odissi dance by Shalini Basu and mesmerizing performances of “Vande Mataram” by Khushi Dance Academy, New Jersey, marking 150 years of the iconic national song.

Governor Ned Lamont and Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz joined Consul General Binaya S. Pradhan in celebrating the 77th Republic of India with the Indian American community, organized by Milan Cultural Association.
CG Binaya S. Pradhan thanked Governor Ned Lamont and the State of Connecticut for declaring Diwali as an officially recognized state observance; he also thanked the Milan Cultural Organization under the leadership of Mr. Suresh Sharma for bringing the community together for this meaningful event. The event also featured vibrant Indian cultural performances, including special presentations themed on "Vande Mataram" to commemorate 150 years of this iconic song, which continues to inspire generations.
