>> President Donald Trump has appointed federal housing regulator Bill Pulte as acting director of national intelligence. Pulte would replace Tulsi Gabbard, who is stepping down from the position at the end of June.

>> Trump has signed an executive order that changes job protections for some federal employees working on policy-related roles. The order removes job security protections from nearly 8,000 federal positions, Bloomberg reported.

>> The US said it will closely monitor Iran's delegation attending the upcoming FIFA World Cup to ensure that individuals linked to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps do not enter the country.

>> The House of Representatives voted on June 3 to advance legislation providing new military assistance to Ukraine. The House voted 218-204 in a procedural motion that clears the way for a vote on the Ukraine Support Act, authored by Rep Gregory Meeks, The Hill reported.

>> Trump announced that he will nominate acting Attorney General Todd Blanche to permanently lead the Department of Justice, elevating his former personal attorney to one of the most powerful positions in the federal government.

>> California State Assemblymember James Gallagher has won a special election to claim the House seat left vacant by Rep Doug LaMalfa, following his death in January, giving a slight boost to the Republican majority in the House.

>> Senate Republicans have formally removed funding for Trump’s ballroom security as part of their sprawling immigration funding package, according to revised legislative text, CNN reported.
