London: Indian Vice Consul Amit Kumar Chaudhary joined the vibrant Rath Yatra Festival in Edinburgh on June 15, organized by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). Dedicated to Lord Jagannath, it highlighted India’s cultural and spiritual contributions to the world.
Lord Provost of Edinburgh, Robert Aldridge, also joined in sweeping the path before the chariot. The free-for-all event featured a grand chariot parade from Holyrood Park to The Meadows, followed by music, dance, food, and family-friendly activities.
Ratha Yatra is a festival that involves moving deities Jagannath, Balabhadra, Subhadra, and Sudarshana on a chariot (Rath).
