Actor Pankaj Tripathi is one of the most sought-after actors in the film industry currently, but at heart, he continues to be the simple man from Belsand, Gopalgunj in Bihar who celebrated festivals in simple ways. Sharing his Diwali experience back home, he said: "In the village we used to have mitti ke diye (earthen lamps) with cotton wicks. It used to be an organic and peaceful Diwali."
Unlike the city celebrations, Pankaj revealed that the trend of firecrackers was not as much back home. "We did not have a lot of firecrackers going on at our place, and the reason was that the animals would get scared. That's why we didn't burn firecrackers and celebrated only with sparklers and clay lamps."
The food used to be simple and homemade, said the actor, who left the village to pursue his love for acting and is now settled in Mumbai.
When asked about her most memorable Diwali, Chitrangda Singh, who was last seen in 'Housefull 5', said, "As kids, we pooled in a lot of money and bought crackers. What happened was that all the crackers were in a sack, and one rocket flew in and hit that sack, leading all the crackers to go off at once. Everybody was so upset because everything got finished in no time. It was everybody’s pocket money."
She opened up about how she likes to celebrate Diwali. "Diwali is a lot about giving... I don’t like to overdo things. I prefer the traditional way of lighting diyas and avoid going OTT with blinding lights. The idea is to celebrate Diwali and its spirit. It’s also about doing some charity—giving back to the people who work for you."
