The Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Film Festival showcased the diversity and richness of Indian regional cinema to Chinese audiences. The festival was inaugurated by Consul General Pratik Mathur in Shanghai, who said in his inaugural address that the festival is covering the best of Indian regional cinema, including National Award–winning films fully subtitled in Chinese.

Mathur said the curated selection highlights themes that resonate far and wide with diverse audiences. The festival also sought to bring audiences in mainland China closer to the very best of Indian cinema. Talking about the inaugural Kannada film 'Dollu', Consul General Mathur highlighted that preserving India’s traditional cultural heritage, including folk arts and dances, in keeping with the philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam", remains a key priority.

The deep impact of Indian culture and cinema on the audiences was evident from the housefull screening, with over 200 Chinese audience members and several Consul Generals, including CGs of Iran, Cuba, South Africa, Belarus and Nigeria also joining the special screening.
