Stars share messages of joy, love, prosperity on Ganesh festival

Every year, the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with a lot of fervor and the deity of wisdom, prosperity, and new beginnings is welcomed with drums and bands. Also termed as Vinayaka Chaturthi, the 10-day festival, which began on August 27, is celebrated with great pomp and gaiety to mark the birth of Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed god of wisdom, good fortune and prosperity.

Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan shared a picture of a Ganesha idol and her son, Jeh, praying to the god. She wrote: "I remember, as a child, the Kapoor family Ganpati was always special, just like how we celebrated all festivals…Now, my children look forward to it too… Ganpati Bappa Morya! Bless us all with love and peace forever."

Kangana Ranaut, actress and BJP MP, took to her Instagram stories and wished her fans well on the festival. She also prayed for the happiness, peace and prosperity of every individual. The post read: Heartiest greetings to all of you on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. May Lord Ganesha, the destroyer of obstacles, bring happiness, peace and prosperity in the lives of all of us. Ganpati Bappa Morya."

Actress Sara Ali Khan said that for her, the festival rekindles a sense of communal spirit. "In a world that can sometimes feel so isolated, it’s heart-warming to see everyone come together to celebrate, to pray, and to hope not just for auspicious beginnings in our own lives, but for everyone’s," she told Hindustan Times.

Akshay Kumar also posted a video of Lord Ganesha and extended wishes on the auspicious festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. Suniel Shetty also posted a picture on his Instagram stories to extend his wishes to his fans and followers. Alongside the post, he wrote, “On this auspicious day, may Vignaharta bless every home with peace, prosperity and wisdom. Ganpati Bappa Moriya, Mangal Murti Moriya."

Bipasha Basu took to Instagram to share an adorable video of her daughter Devi sculpting a Lord Ganesha idol with her hands. In the clip, Devi is completely absorbed in the creative process, carefully shaping the clay into the form of Lord Ganesha.

Meanwhile, actors Sonu Sood and Hansika Motwani, comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh Limbachiyaa, were snapped in Mumbai, excitedly taking Lord Ganesh idol's to their homes to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi.
