Alia Bhatt announced as presenter at 2026 BAFTA Awards

After turning heads at Cannes and the MET Gala, Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt is all set to impress her fans at BAFTA this year. The British Academy announced this week that Alia is set to present an award at the 79th edition of the BAFTA Awards, alongside Cillian Murphy, Michael B Jordan, Kate Hudson, Sadie Sink, and others.

The star-studded lineup of guest presenters also includes Alicia Vikander, Bryan Cranston, Patrick Dempsey Delroy Lindo, Emily Watson, Ethan Hawke, Gillian Anderson, Glenn Close, Hannah Waddingham, Monica Bellucci, Rege-Jean Page, Riz Ahmed, and Stellan Skargard.

Before Alia, Priyanka Chopra Jonas presented at the BAFTAs in 2021, followed by Deepika Padukone’s appearance at the ceremony in 2024.

On the work front, Alia is currently busy shooting for two big films, YRF’s 'Alpha', and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 'Love And War'. She will join the YRF’s spy universe with Sharvari and Bobby Deol. The film is slated to hit theatres this year.

Manipuri film 'Boong' gets BAFTA nominatio

'Boong', a Manipuri-language film from debutante director Lakshmipriya Devi, has secured a nomination in the best children's and family film category at the BAFTA Awards 2026.

Backed by actor-producer Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, 'Boong' is pitted against Disney hits 'Lilo & Stitch' and 'Zootopia 2' as well as animated science fantasy film 'Arco'.

The coming-of-age movie follows the story of a young boy named Boong (Gugun Kipgen), from the valley of Manipur, who plans to surprise his mother with a gift.
