Actress Anupriya Goenka is heading to the ongoing Cannes Film Festival 2026 with her film 'Bombay Stories', which will be showcased at the prestigious Marché du Film, also known as the Cannes Film Market. Directed by Rahhat Shah Kazmi, the film is based on Saadat Hasan Manto’s Hatak, one of the most powerful stories from his seminal body of work.

The film marks Anupriya’s first independent feature and explores the lives of sex workers through a satirical yet deeply humane lens. Apart from Anupria, 'Bombay Stories' also features Mouni Roy and Sushmiita Singh.

For Anupriya, 'Bombay Stories' holds special significance as it marks her foray into independent cinema. The actress said that she had always wanted to be a part of such a space and feels grateful that her first independent film allows her to inhabit a character written by Manto.
