'Bhooth Bangla' crosses Rs 100 Cr gross worldwide

Akshay Kumar's horror comedy 'Bhooth Bangla', which opened in theatres across the globe on April 17, with mixed reviews from the critics and the audience, recently entered the Rs 100 crore club.

Film producer Ekta Kapoor recently revealed on her Instagram that the film earned Rs 102. 05 crore gross worldwide. She revealed the staggering numbers with the caption, “Across borders, the laughter is universal!”

The film collected Rs 9 crore gross worldwide on day 1 of its release, followed by earning Rs 9.10 crore on day 2 and Rs 6.50 crore on day 3. The horror comedy also performed well at the domestic box office, earning Rs 21.60 crore gross in India on day 1, with Rs 25.65 crore on day 2 and Rs 30.20 crore on day 3.

The film features an ensemble cast alongside Akshay Kumar and Wamiqa Gabbi. Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, Mithila Palkar, and Jisshu Sengupta feature in key roles. It follows a man who inherits a palace in rural Mangalpur and plans his sister's wedding there, but strange supernatural events and panicked locals force him to investigate the property's mysterious past.
