'Deli Boys' make one-night cameo in 'Aladdin' on Broadway

Actors Asif Ali and Saagar Shaikh, the stars of Hulu’s hit comedy series 'Deli Boys', made a special one-night cameo appearance in Disney’s Broadway musical 'Aladdin,' marking a memorable crossover between television and theater.

The actors made their Broadway debuts ahead of the premiere of 'Deli Boys Season 2', appearing at the historic New Amsterdam Theatre in New York City. During the performance, Ali and Shaikh joined the cast as Game Show Hosts during the musical’s show-stopping number “Friend Like Me,” alongside Genie actor Caleb A Barnett.

According to reports, the appearance marked the first time two South Asian actors were invited to participate in the production’s special one-time cameo tradition. Following their performance, actress Sonya Balsara (Jasmine) invited the pair to join the cast during the curtain call, drawing enthusiastic applause from the audience.

'Deli Boys' is a crime-comedy series on Hulu about two South Asian-American brothers who lose everything when their father dies. The series has been praised for its fresh storytelling and South Asian representation. Season 2 of 'Deli Boys' premieres on May 28 on Hulu.
