Held every year at the legendary Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the Met Gala brings together designers, artists, actors, athletes, and cultural tastemakers from across the world. This year, guests will gather on May 4, and the official dress code is "Fashion is Art", Vogue announced this week.

A social media post by Vogue explained that the directive mirrors the ethos of Costume Art, an exhibition that explores the "centrality of the dressed body" through artistic depictions and interpretations of the human form from the museum's vast collection. In simpler terms, fashion this year isn't just about glamour, it's about how clothing becomes expression, identity, and art in motion.

Leading the night as co-chairs are Beyonce, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour. The Gala Host Committee co-chairs include Anthony Vaccarello and Zo Kravitz.

Last year saw memorable appearances by Shah Rukh Khan, Diljit Dosanjh, Manish Malhotra, and Kiara Advani, all making their Met Gala debuts, with Priyanka Chopra, Natasha Poonawalla, Mona Patel, Isha Ambani, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, and Diya Mehta, taking over the red carpet.
