Priyanka Chopra is set to return to Indian cinema with SS Rajamouli’s film 'Varanasi', and the project is already generating massive global buzz despite being more than a year away from release. Adding to the excitement, her husband Nick Jonas recently praised the film and opened up about her dedication to the much-awaited spectacle.

The Hollywood actor and singer shared his admiration during an appearance on The Zach Sang Show. Speaking about Priyanka’s commitment to the film, Nick Jonas said, “Priyanka has been shooting for the last like 14 months on and off. It’s a South Indian film by SS Rajamouli, who directed 'RRR'. It’s his next big film. It’s gonna be incredible."

'Varanasi' marks Priyanka Chopra’s much-awaited return to Indian cinema after several years of working in Hollywood. In the film, she takes on the role of Mandakini. Her first-look poster, released last year, featured the actor in a striking avatar - dressed in a yellow saree and holding a pistol - hinting at a powerful, action-driven character.

Mahesh Babu leads the film as Rudhra, a rugged explorer on a mission that transcends time, setting the stage for a grand, high-stakes narrative. Adding further depth to the story is Prithviraj Sukumaran, who plays the antagonist Kumbha.
