'Ramayana' 3D teaser to debut in theatres with Cameron’s 'Avatar'

The 3D promo of Namit Malhotra’s 'Ramayana', starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash and dubbed as the "biggest film of 2026", will debut in theatres with James Cameron's 'Avatar: Fire and Ash.'

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios and 8-time Oscar-winning VFX studio DNEG in association with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, 'Ramayana' will release worldwide: Part 1 in Diwali 2026 and Part 2 in Diwali 2027.

A source told Bollywood Hungama that this shall be the costliest Indian film ever made, with a budget of Rs 835 crore. The soundtrack for the movie is being composed by Grammy-winning Hans Zimmer and Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman

Sunny Deol to star in Lord Hanuman-centric musical

As per reports, 'Ramayana' producer Namit Malhotra is working on a Lord Hanuman-centric musical film and actor Sunny Deol is the top choice for it. The 'Gadar' actor is already playing the role of Lord Hanuman in 'Ramayana' (both parts).

The new project is said to be the second entry in the 'Ramayana universe'. As per a Mid-Day report, this film is being described as 'mythological-pop opera with thunderous action'.

A source revealed that the makers plan to have "Avengers-styled interconnected storylines with recurring characters and crossovers. Hanuman is their Hulk — unstoppable, beloved, and built for spectacle."
