Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has received a threatening message via a WhatsApp voice note, in which the sender allegedly demanded money running into crores.
After receiving the threat, Singh informed the Mumbai Police, following which security outside his residence was immediately heightened. The sender claimed to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Police have launched an investigation and are currently working to trace the individual who sent the voice note. Further details are awaited as the probe continues.
This follows the recent firing incident outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the firing incident on February 8.
Ranveer calls Excel unprofessional
Ranveer Singh recently stepped away from one of the most anticipated projects, 'Don 3', directed by Farhan Akhtar and backed by Excel Entertainment. Following Singh’s exit from the film, Excel reportedly sought hefty compensation of Rs 40 crore from the actor.
The source told Bollywood Hungama, “Ranveer blamed Excel Entertainment for unprofessionalism and not being serious about taking 'Don 3' on floors. He stated that Farhan Akhtar never had a bound script in place and that, as an actor, he prefers to work only with fully developed material."
“Ranveer also pointed out that Farhan was never open to feedback on the script... He further alleged that Excel was exploring the possibility of getting Hrithik Roshan on board and only re-approached him after the success of Dhurandhar, to capitalize on his momentum," the source added.
