Raveena Tandon to play PM Modi’s late mother in biopic

Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon is about to take on a role that is completely different from her previous roles. The actress, who is renowned for her strong performances and commanding presence on screen, will play Prime Minister Narendra Modi's late mother, Heeraben Modi, in the upcoming biographical movie 'Maa Vande'.

Directed by Kranthi Kumar Ch, the project also features Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan in the lead, who will bring to life the journey of Modi himself. According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the actress was deeply touched by the tale and immediately identified with Heeraben's fortitude and understated elegance.

A source close to the team told the publication, “'Maa Vande' is a film that predominantly focuses on the mother-son relationship. The film chronicles the sacrifices, resilience, and contributions she made to better his life. And Raveena Tandon was fascinated by this element and wanted to be part of the story.”

Known for her meticulous preparation, Raveena will embody Heeraben across different stages of life, capturing the woman’s simplicity, endurance, and unwavering faith.
