A spectacular Bangladeshi Fashion Trunk Show by designer Chaman Chowdhury was held on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Levittown Hall in Hicksville, Long Island, NY. The event was proudly organized by WBI-NY (Women of Bangladeshi Heritage), USA, a nonprofit organization.
Chaman Chowdhury, an acclaimed designer from Bangladesh, has been passionately promoting Bangladeshi jute-made garments across the globe for over a decade. Her vision celebrates sustainability and innovation — redefining fashion by transforming the humble jute fiber, often called Sonali Ashe (Golden Fiber), into elegant, contemporary wear.
The show featured unique fusion outfits crafted from repurposed jute bags, offering a refreshing perspective that fashion can be both eco-conscious and stylish — transcending traditional fabrics like silk or satin.
As the founder of Chaman’s Flagship Store in Dhaka, Chaman continues to inspire with her commitment to sustainable fashion and her creative reimagining of Bangladesh’s heritage materials. A frequent visitor to New York, she remains a proud ambassador of Bangladeshi artistry on the global stage.
