The NYC Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence on Wednesday honored nine extraordinary New Yorkers for Women’s History Month. Their work advocating for survivors of domestic and gender-based violence are driving real change in the diverse communities we serve. This took place at Queens Borough Hall.
The honorees are:
- Kathleen Collins Baer, Assistant Commissioner of the NYPD’s newly created Gender-Based Violence Policy and Planning Unit
- Naheed Samadi Bahram, U.S. Country Director, Women for Afghan Women
- Nechama Bakst, Managing Director of Social Services, Met Council
- Carolien Hardenbol, Supervising Immigration Specialist, Sanctuary for Families
- Rahnum Tasnuva, Executive Director & Founder, South Asian Women Project
- Jeehae Fischer, Executive Director, Korean American Family Service Center
- Simone Devi Jhingoor, Executive Director, Jahajee
- Pooja Raj-Green, Director of Programs, Sakhi
- Lynn Cai, Co-Deputy Director, Garden of Hope
