Odisha Society of Americas-NYNJ celebrates Utkal Dibas

The Odia community from across the tri-state area came together at Tagore Hall, Anand Mandir, Somerset to celebrate Utkal Dibas, hosted by Odisha Society of Americas - NYNJ in collaboration with the Consulate General of India, New York. 

Consul General Binaya S. Pradhan appreciated the Odia diaspora for preserving and promoting Odia language and culture, especially among the younger generations.

The event was graced by Swami Sarvapriyanandaji of the Vedanta Society of New York who enlightened the audience on the inclusive Jagannatha culture, drawing from the Upanishads. 

The afternoon was marked by meaningful milestones: a biography of late Lata Mishra was released, and Nilachakra, a new initiative to connect young minds with Odia culture, was launched. 350 members attended, with 120 participating in vibrant cultural performances including Odissi, Gotipua, Sambalpuri, and more.
