Beijing: Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Islamabad respects Moscow’s relations with New Delhi, calling them "perfectly fine," during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Beijing on September 2.

Sharif added that Islamabad seeks to build strong relations with Moscow. "We also want to build very strong relations, which would be supplementary and complementary to the progress and prosperity of the region," he said, praising Putin as a "very dynamic leader" and expressing his willingness to work closely with him.

“And we also want to build very strong relations ... and these relations will be supplementary and complementary for the progress and prosperity of the region," Sharif added.

At the recent Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit, the Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan were present in their first face-to-face encounter since Operation Sindoor. The two leaders reportedly turned their backs on each other during a dinner hosted by the Chinese President.

While India's Prime Minister met with several other heads of state with warmth, there was no meeting with his Pakistani counterpart.

A suicide bomber struck a political rally in southwestern Pakistan on September 2, killing at least 14 people and injuring several others. According to AFP, at least 18 people were wounded in the explosion, which took place in the parking lot of a stadium in the provincial capital, Quetta, where hundreds of members of the Balochistan National Party (BNP) had gathered, the officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
